My Story
I am a South-Asian woman of Indian descent, now rooted in Vancouver, BC. I write poetry in Hindi and English and create abstract art that emerges from my innermost consciousness—colors, shapes, and patterns that refuse to be confined. My work moves between diaspora, realism, and mysticism, tracing fractured worlds and resilient hearts.
I began drawing what I had been experiencing for a long time in my innermost consciousness. The colors, shapes, figures, cycles, patterns, and movements in my drawings represent freedom of thought and expression. I depict my experiences in two forms—poetry and art. Poetry has its own limitations, whereas art often helps bring limitless experience to life in visual form. All my drawings and paintings are single, unique pieces, because life experiences never repeat themselves in the same form.
